Last night the humans got to go to their favorite parade of the year, the parade of lights, but unfortunalely they wouldn't let me come because they said it was to cold for me to have to sit or lay on the ground for that long. The parade is always longer than an hour. Luckily, mom took lits of photos, and although I'm still mad they didn't take me even though they know I don't mind the cold, I liked looking at the photos anyway.

Can you say SNOW?

I knew something special was about to happen last night. All of us poodles got an extra bundle of energy and had a tingling sensation running through our bodies. We just had to PLAY! So we went outside to play ball. It was the most marvelous thing, it started to snow! Mom said the snow would be gone by morning because it usually is, but boy was she wrong. When we woke up this morning the entire world was covered with glorious snow! I could not be more happy.
We got to play ball in the snow with mom all morning. I also played with my toy boot, it didn't seem to get as stuck in the snow. My pink ball kept getting COVERED with ice and snow so I would have to stop and eat the snow off of it. I don't mind eating the snow, but didn't like holding a snowy ball in my mouth while trying to keep it away from my poodle family. I wish it would snow or rain everyday. What a glorious force of nature.
Here we are waiting for mom to throw the ball. Aspasia sure gets excited when we play ball, you would think she was a wolf the way she howls. Poor Josie is the only one of us poodles who doesn't love the snow. She would rather sit inside by the fire, and that's what she usually gets to do. I hope everyone in the world got snow today like we did, its the greatest thing since turkey leftovers.

My 1st Birthday and an unexpected suprize

Well, yesterday was my birthday and boy was it fun! I am one year old now but mom says I will still be a puppy untill I am 2, but she doubts I will actually every really grow up. I got to go to my favorite dog park yesterday, but then after we got home I ate dinner (canned food, because it's my special day), and then had cake. I got a new chew stick and a stretchy doggy toy to play with as well. What a day.

After mom got home from taking the human pups to school threr was a boy in front of our front door. Mom was worried that it was another abused and neglected dog (that happens more than we would like to think about) but instead of a dog it was two sick kittens. Mom is known as the crazy lady who wont turn an animal in need away, but when people just dump the animals it really makes her mad. The last animal who was dumped was a mini silver poodle who was tied to our gate sometime in the middle of the night a few months ago. He had several problems, including anxiety, but after alot of work and patience on mom's part he now lives with a great older couple who dote on him. Mom hopes these kittens (if they live) will find great homes as well. They are both boys. One of them, an orange and white one with extra toes, just seems to have a bit of an eye infection and a runny bum, but the smoke colored one with half a tail seems much sicker. He is very, very skinny, stinks to high heaven, and has his entire back end covored with poo. Mom gave them both a bath, fed and watered them, and will take them to the vet early this afternoon. She thinks they might have feline aids or something like that. We have no other cats in the house right now, but mom is keeping them away from us dogs just in case they have something we could catch. Both justice and her mom, Aspasia, would really like to play with those kittens, but Josie and I are pretending we don't even know they are here. Mom put them in her bedroom and boy are they loud. Please wish the kittens luck at the dr. today. Mom worries that the smoky one is to sickly to save, but cats are pretty tough so you never know. Mom has started calling the smokey one Cinder, and the orange and white one Marmalade.

Well, my computer is finally up and working (and hopefully it will stay that way). The weather got really cold earlier this month, it even hailed and snowed a bit although non of it really hit the ground before it melted, but now it is pretty warm, around 60 degrees. I don't care what kind of weather we have as long as I get to play outside and sleep in mom's warm bed at night.

We had some excitement here a few weeks ago. My black poodle sister, Aspasia, gave birth to one black and one brown little girl pup. Before they were born mom put a plastic swimming pool in out living room and lined it with newspapers and some old blankets. Aspasia was quite happy there and slept there everytime she took a nap. She even shredded the paper. However, when it was time for her pups to be born she REFUSED to stay in the pool. She decided the COUCH was a much better place to give birth. No matter how many times mom moved her and pleaded with her to have them in the pool Aspasia moved right back to the couch. Mom finally gave up and covered the couch with the old blankets. Afet both the pups were born mom put them in the pool and Aspasia was happy to stay in there with them. Aspasia is a very good mother and takes great care of the pups, but I decided that I should help her out. Every time Aspasia has to go outside to go potty I get in bed with the pups to guard them. I am also very goot at giving them baths. I also like to climb in the puppy bed when Aspasia is in there, and luckily she doesnt mind very much. Mom doesn't like both of us to be in there at the same time because she worries that the pups will get smooshed, but that won't happen. I am very gentle and loving with the pups. The smallest human puppy (who turned 2 this month) decided the pups needed names so started calling the black girl batman and the brown one robin. I don't think he realizes that those are boy names, either that or he just doesn't care. When the pups move to their new homes I'm sure their human family will call them something else, but for now the names batman and robin have stuck.

My other poodle sister, Justice, is the pups full sister. She was also very excited to meet her siblings. She started out chocolate like Robin but has since turned a neat Cafe Lait color. She is only chocolate on her ears, feet and her tail now (and her face when she needs to be trimmed). She is still in the process of changing color (as am I) because we poodles dont stop changing color untill at least 2yrs old.We think Robin will turn as well when she gets older because she has LOTS of white hair on the bottoms of her feet just like Justice did when she was that tiny.
Justice got to go with the humans yesterday to a park. Not a dog park but one they call a playground. She loves to go with them to those parks, although I dont understand why. Justice can only go when there are no other human children there because she likes to go down the slides too. She is going to be tought agility soon, if mom gets extra time. I was going to learn agility as well, but mom is worried that it will be to stressful on my back. There is only one problem with Justice learning agility thoigh. She can't or wont jump! What is that?! All standards are fanaminal jumpers (or so I thought) but she refuses to jump over even the shortest thing. She is an odd duck. Are any of you other dogs afraid or unable to jump like Justice? There doesn't seem to be anything physically wrong and has plenty of oportunitys to learn to jump but just wont. Here is a photo of Justice at the park.

By the way... I'm going to turn ONE on November 21!!!! I wonder what the humans have planned for me!

Halloween

I went to an odd human thing event tonight. A costume contest for people and their dogs. I have never seen so many silly people or dogs in my life! Mom took both Odette and I along with the 3 human kids. Everyone was dressed up in different outfits, most of whom matched their dogs. It was to benefit the local animal control. Mom told me that I was supposed to be a bat dog or something like that. I just wore plastic blow up bat wings and a fancy black bandanna. Odette wore her princess outfit. The littlest human was superman, the middle was Zookie (a super hero from his imagination), and the girl was a queen vampire. I suppose I matched her a bit since I was a bat dog, but many other people went ALL out on their dog's costumes. Mom says she would love to have the time to create some of the things the other people could, but she had to make the human kids' costumes and just didn't have time to go all out on ours. I just don't think that's fair. We are her kids too after all. I wish I could get the photos to post of me in my costume, but I will try and post them tomorrow.

foxfire and rain

Thanks to Isabella and Buster I can finally post photos again. Foxfire really does work better for blogging.

These are some of the bees that stung me and sent me to the vets. Thabkfully the swelling is almost gone completely on my eyelid so I don't have to be a cone head anymore. Mom isn't very happy with me today because when we went for a walk today I still wanted to catch those bees. I kept snapping the air to try and catch them. Doesn't mom understand that vengence WILL be mine?!

After our walk it started poaring!! It doesnt usually rain very hard here, but it sure is now. It rained last night too. Mom forgot to roll her car window up last night (real smart) so she had a very wet seat when takeing the human kids to school this morning. I thought it was funny. Infortunately we poodles won't get to go to the dog park today because the ground is SO very muddy. If she did take us her car interior would no longer be grey but a beautiful, slimy, shade of brown. Sounds good to me. Maby things will dry up enough for us to get to go to the park tomorrow, but the way it's looking outside right now that isn't very likely. I love the rain but love running with a pack at the dog park too.

The Bees

We got to go for a long walk today and I got to see lots of neat things. We visited my mom's human parents house and saw ALOT of buzzing, flying things in their back yard. Mom told me to leave the Bees alone, but do you think I listened? As soon as she was out of sight I started snapping them up. I love to catch bugs, mom says it's not a lady like thing to do, but who says I want to be a lady? I'll leave that to Josie. I caught and ate several of them before one of them BIT me! It hurt but do you think that means I stopped catching those nasty buggers? No, of course not, what do you take me for, a quitter? I got 2 stings on my lips (one on the inside of my mouth, one on the outside) but that didn't slow me down much. Then something happened that made me leave the bees alone. Those bees got mad and stung me on my eye lid!! Now, that wasn't called for. Mom came outside to check on me and freaked when she say my lips swollen a bit and my left eye swollen shut! She soon figured out what had gotten me when I got sick and those bees came right back up, but because mom doesn't know if I've ever been stung by a bee before and didn't know if I was allergic, and she was worried that they might have scratched my eye, she took me to the vet. I love the vet. They pay so much attention to me, give me treats, and after I go there mom always spoils me rotten. I didn't think I need to go to the vet, but you know how moms are, worry warts. The vet put a neat chemical in my eye and shone a special light on my eye to make sure there weren't any scratches (there weren't) poked and pulled at my lips to make sure there weren't stingers still in it, then they made me wear a VERY irritating thing, an E collar. I hate that thing and keep checking on the edges although mom can't figure out how I'm doing that. I run it into a wall hard untill it bends than grab the edge with my front teeth. I want that thing off now! I have to wear it so I don't scratch at my eye, especially after mom puts some gunky cream in it. You would probably think I will leave those nasty bees alone after all this, but I have a score to settle now. They made it so I have to look like a satellite dish is on my neck so I have to make them PAY! Just you wait bees, just you wait. Your time is coming.

Doogie's rescuer needs our help

Isabella the poodle's blog tells about a woman who needs our help. There are SO many its hard to narrow it down to just five! But here goes...

1. When mom is having a bad or stressfull day I lay my head on her lap and make her worries go away.

2. Even though I hate having my ears plucked (us poodle have to have this done) I sit still and take it like the tough girl I am.

3. I play ball like a maniac. I fall all over myself (literally) trying to get the ball and will even jump over dogs if they get in the way.

4. I clean the dishes 1st so it is easier for mom to wash them. (I clean Dartagnan, my 1yr old human brother too, but sometimes mom doesn't like that, especially when he is asleep.)

5. I make sure mom doesn't miss one of my favorite things in the world, thunderstorms. If it storms while she is asleep I bark with my booming voice till she wakes up to enjoy it.

I have now tagged 5 great dogs. Lucy the Golden Retriever, Poseidon the Siberian Husky , the Cybersibes the Siberian Husky pack , Althea the Siberian Husky, and Skippy the Portuguese Water Dog who has a great yard and beautiful photos of flowers.

I have some news also, not just the info about why I'm great. I have a new dog sister. Her name is Tian-Shi. She is a pekingese rescue who will be staying with us for a while until she is ready to go to her forever home. I heard her talking to Chen Po earlier today and she says she wants to stay with us indefinitely, but I don't know about that. If she was a standard poodle like me that would be great, but I already have to put up with Chen Po, the most arrogant pekingese in the world, and I don't know if I could handle another one. She doesn't seem stuck up yet, infact she is quite timid, but you never know, she could just be pretending and really has a giant attitude like Chen Po. I do feel sorry for her though, she is so scared of EVERYTHING. She isn't afraid of us big poodles, but just about everything else, even grass! Who is afraid of grass? It is one of my many favorite things to nibble on, to roll in, lay one etc. What's not to like?

I got to go for a walk this morning since it was finally NOT raining. I would love to take a walk in the rain or do just about anything in the rain, but mom says no. We walked down to a great little restaurant downtown and ate breakfast. It is the only restaurant in town that lets us canines be on the patio. We can't go inside, which is crazy, but at least they let us be on the patio. Why can't we go into restraunts? Don't they know the floors and the plates would be SO much cleaner if we dogs were allowed inside. They wouldn't even have to waste $ on a vacuum because we would vacuum for them. Oh well, it's their loss. Anyway, the nice waitress even brought me my own batter bowl and dog cookies. I stayed under mom's chair (at least as much of me would fit under it) and was SO good that the lady even brought me my own bowl of ice cream. That is something I usually never get because mom worries it will upset my tummy. Doesn't she know that us silver poodles are made of steel? Even our tummies. I sure showed her because I didn't even get a belly ach. Maybe that means I will get to have ice cream more often... I sure hope so.

Tian-Shi is the strangest looking dog. Chen Po looks strange too, but at least he has more snout that she does. Mom has lots of pekingese books (but even more poodle books) and she says Chen Po's nose is too long according to the breed standard in the books, plus he has an underbite (just a little one) , but she looks like she ran into a wall or something. Mom likes it, but Tian-Shi doesn't even look like a dog, even less than Chen Po does and I thought HE was odd looking. Oh well, she seems nice and doesn't take my toys or anything, so I guess she's alright. She just stays on her bed and watches everything so doesn't bother me, but that could always change. Both Chen Po and Odette like her a lot so I guess she is alright with me.

Haircut

Well, mom finally broke down and gave me a haircut. Please vote for Chen Po and I, we would appreciate it.

It is raining again today and that makes me SO happy. I wish it rained everyday, then I wouldn't have to try to get myself wet all the time. Mom thinks she is going to give me a shorter hair cut. Mom's odd. All summer I have had fairly long hair, but now that it's cooling off she is going to give me shorter hair. Such an odd human. Mom says she has her reasons though. During the winter she has an even harder time keeping me (and the other poodles) from bringing muck into the house. All the snow, mud etc. sticks to our fur and we need a bath almost daily. I've never had short hair, mom loves me wooly like a giant bear, so she is nervous to shave it off, but gee mom, its only hair and It will always grow back. She always hates giving me a haircut worse than the other poodles because everytime she does I change colors. I keep getting lighter and lighter. What did she expect when she got a silver poodle? We are always changing color. Of course, everytime I change colors mom decides she thinks I am more and more beautiful. Silly human.

Mud baths

I found a new very fun game that drives mom nuts. Its great. Mom has a big tub/bucket outside that she fills with water for us to drink, but do you know what I have learned to do? I jump in it, well I try to anyway. Only my front half fits in it though. I have always done that (even though we have our own wading pool) but the new thing I have learned is to flip the tub over ald all that glorious water pours out. I have learned how to make my own mud bath!! After the water spills on the ground I prance around in it, and 2 of my sisters and I slide and roll around in it until we are all close to the same color as Justice. Neither Aspasia or Schopenhauer will join us, but it's their loss. Josie, whose feet are finally better, looks the best covered in mud. She is white so you can really see it. Mom liked to dye her different colors sometimes, so we figure we are just helping her out and Josie turns chocolate colored just like Justice (although Justice was born that way). After we are a beautiful brown we like to ask to come i9n, and then when mom starts to open the door I slam myself through the opening and redecorate our house so it matches Josie, Justice, and I. What a treat for mom, she always complains about wanting to redecorate, so we are nice enough to do it for her. Mom says she is going to have to attach the water tub to the fence so we can't dump it, but what fun would that be? Even if she does, we will find a way. Mom says the other poodles acted much more refined until I came along, it sure has been fun corrupting them :)

A day at the dogpark

We got to go to the dogpark in Palisade yesterday. It was wonderful. We usually go on saturdays but they were having a peach fair there on saturday so it was FULL of people. I love peaches so wanted to go, but mom made me stay home. She did bring me home a peach though, so I forgave her. She cuts them in half so I don't eat the pit. I wish she didn't though, that pit thing looks great to chew on. Anyway, back to the dogpark. Its a wonderful park with a pond, grass and lots of tall trees. We spent half the day there, then mom had to go get the human kids from school (it was their 1st day back at school). We always swim 1st when we get there. My sis, Josie, and I love the water the most. Justice and Aspasia like to swim too, but not as much. Schopenhauer doesn't ever get to go to dogparks, because he has too strong of a hunting instinct (thats what mom says anyway) and if he sees something little running he chases it. He cant tell if its a tiny dog or a bunny untill he is on top of it. He is great with our little dogs at home, but he doesnt pay enough attention at dogparks to go there safetly. He has never hurt a little dog, but he makes mom too nervous. After we have a good swim its time to RUN. Boy do we standard poodles love to run. We are always the fasted dogs there, especially Aspasia. She is like black lightning. We zoomed alover for a long time, and then it was time to go swimming again. We always try to get extra wet right before its time to get in the car, that way mom has more to do. I think she would get bored if she didn't have us poodles to clean up after all the time. On out last swim of the day there was a very extra suprize in the pond for us. A pair of swans. Boy did we want those birds, just to play with of course :) I tried several times to catch them but they kept swimming away, and because I'm such a big girl its hard for me to swim long distances. That didn't stop Josie though. She wanted those swans SO baddly. She swam almost the lenght of the pond (its a huge pond!) trying to catch those blasted birds. when she was about 3/4 from where she started to the otherside she decided to give up and turned around to come back to shore. Why she didn't just swim to the opposite shore which she was closser to beats me, but she didn't. She made it all the way back to us but when she got out of the water she couldnt walk. Mom was freaking a bit because she didn't know why Josie wouldn't walk. She picked her up, all 60lbs., and carried her to the car. She put her on the hood of the car so she could find out why Josie wouldnt walk. Justice, Aspasia, and I were concerned too. We kept pushing on Josie asking her what was wrong, but she was hurt to bad to talk. We were very worried. Finally, mom found out what the matter was. Josie had sliced of all the skin on her big pad one foot, and had sliced a pad on 2 other feet. Therefore, Josie only has 1 good foot! Mom hadn't delt with that kind of injurt before so took Josie to the vet right away and made us wait in the car. Mom almost never leaves us in the car, but this was an emergency. The vet cut off the extra skin from the worst pad injury and then wrapped all 3 injuted feet. Boy does Josie look silly. Mom has a cone thing for her neck so she wont chew the bandages, but we are all so used to wearing doggy shoes that josie doesn't care about the wrapps. Mom sure feels bad about Josie's feet. If we had been wearing our shoes Josie wouldn't have been hurt. We think her pads got cut by sharp rocks in the pond. We wear our shoes when we are going walking on hot sidewalks, in snow, or in the mountains, but the dogpark is mostly grass so we weren't wearing them. Poor Josie has to stay inside for a few weeks and can't play. I try and make her feel better by getting her to play inside (something we aren't allowed to do) but mom sees me and makes me leave her alone. Just because she got hurt doesn't mean she is special you know. I'm still just as special, even if Josie is being babied because she got hurt. (this is me pouting) Atleast I know mom still loves me. We all got new rawhide bones today. I think mom got them for us to let us know how much she loves us, and because Josie was getting bored in the house with just the little dogs to talk to. Otherthan mom over reacting to Josie's feet, it was a very fun day.

Here I am the same day mom got me from my old home and my canine mom. She took me right to the vets (after being groomed). What a long day for a tiny scared puppy. Of course, now I'm almost fearless (lets ignore the fact that only tiny dogs scare me). Didn't I loog pathetic? I was terrified. I had never seen a floor let alone a table. The next photo is of me at home one month later. It sure didn't take long for me to get used to the good stuff in life, like a family that loves me, takes me to swim, and spends lots of time with me. Not to mention who buys me LOTS of toys and treats and lets me get on the furniture and lets me sleep in mom's bed. My life shure changed after mom took me from that barn. My human mom doesn't know how it happene, but it must have been bad. I held my back like that all the time because it made it hurt less. Perhaps the zebra that lived next to us in the barn kicked me? I was too little to remember. Several of my littermates have problems too. Very sad. We also lived next to a herd of beefalow (half cow, half buffalo) and camels etc. The woman who owned my canine mom and dad just had us to make a proffit. Mom thinks its sad, but just couldn't leave me there. My canine parents were from champions but weren't treated as champions like my canine siblings and I are. Several of my siblings and I get together once in awhile and luckily all of us have better lives now, even if the 1st 8 weeks of our lives will impact us forever. Luckily we were well socialized with animals and people, but mom said she couldn't even take me home before she took me for a bath and a trim because I was so stinky. The photo on top is of my father who lived in a kennel not even big enough for a mini poodle. Mom doesn't know if he ever was alowed to run around the farm, but he certainly wasn't used to being handled. Mom took lots of photos of him, mom and everything else, and that photo is the best one of him. See how they shaved his head? Isn't it odd. You wouldn't have been able to tell the dogs were even poodles if you didn't know alot about poodles in the 1st place. They were actually good quality dogs, came from show poodles etc. but needed alot more love, attention, and better and cleaner living arrangements. The people certainly didn't know a thing about standard poodles and shouldn't have been breeding them. The other photo is of me on the ride home. There wasn't anything illegal with how we pups were brought into the world or how we lived, but mom shure thinks its a shame. She thinks all animals deserve better, and so do I. I'm one happy poodle now though.

being tagged

I was tagges by Pippin and Dr. Misha Meepenstein
Here's how this tag is played:The player of this game starts with "5 weird things/habits about yourself." Mom put something weird on the floor. A new rug. It smells funny. My sister, Justice wont even walk on it. I'll walk on it, infact, I've found out that its not so bad to lay on, but I still don't like it. Why must people always change things? I have had the same stuffed toy since I was a pup, it looks nice and messy, just like I like things. Next she may take it and throw it out like our old rug. That would be sad. I liked our old rug much better. It smelled like home, this one smells like... I don't know what. The old rug was softer too. I may potty on the dumb thing just to get rid of it, although I've never had to do my buisness in the house before, even as a pup, but it may come to that. It smells! Mom says the smell should go away soon, but she must have forgotten that canine noses are much better than her's. Little Odette seems to like the new rug though, and since she is the canine queen around here perhaps its not SO bad. Wow! I just found a great new use for it! If I get running really fast then jump on the rug quickly and stop running I can slide across the floor! What a thrill, and look how scrunched up that smelly rug is now! oh no... Mom didn't like me doing that very much. Ha, ha, thats what she gets for getting that smelly thing anyway.

Rain

It had been SO hot this summer that I have been spending lots of time inside, but this week is different. It has been raining like I have never seen in my fairly short life. I LOVE it. Mom stands at the door calling me to come inside, but I just stand there in the wind laughing at her. If she wants me to come in so baddly she will have to come out in the rain to get me. The rain feels so good splaching down on m. One thing I like about the rain is that it makes the ground so muddy and slippery. My Chocolate sis, Justice, and I love running as fast as we can in it, then we try and stop quickly and usually come crashing to the ground sending mud flying everywhere. Justice and I love to run in different directions and then I try to jump over her (she is only 35lbs after all) most the time I make it, but sometimes we crash. It is so much fun. We get COVERED in mud, and thats when its time to go inside. (Can you see how muddy Justice is in the photo?) I cant wait till it snows. I don't really remember snow very well from last year, I was only a baby, but if it makes Mom's floor as messy as rain does I know I'll love it.

County fair

This blogging thing is neat, although I don't know how to do everything yet.

I got to go to the fair with mom and the human kids today. It was so exciting! There were SO many new smells and sights. I loved the pigs the best, although they made a terrible noise when they were mad. Mom was really proud of me because I didnt even get scared, even of those huge dogs mom called cows. They must speak a different language though because I sure didn't understand all their mmooooooo sounds. All I knoe is that they smelled bad! Even worse than the pigs. My 5yr old human brother, Soren, really wanted to take a huge brown pig home, but mom said no. I don't know why, I think it would have fit in just fine at home. I kinda scared the sheep and goats though. Boy are they dumb. What did they think I would do? I don't undersand why people and those silyl sheep get nervous around me. It frustrates mom sometimes. She keeps saying that maby if she gave me a frou-frou haircut people wouldnt be so silly, but I love my town and country clip. People should just stop being judgementle. I'm a poodle for goodness sakes, and the calmest dog mom has ever met. Anyway, the fair was cool. I hope I get to go there again soon, although mom says I have to wait till next year :( I sure am glad they let dogs visit the fair. So many places seem to think we are unclean or something, don't they know its the people who smell funny? After all, who would clean up all the popcorn and stuff people spill on the ground if it wasn't for us dogs?

Here I am, MoonShadow, at 6 months old. I needed my face shaved, but aren't I still beautiful? I'm a really odd color, not really silver, but not ...un-silvery. I kinda have some bronze in my fur, but only in the right light, and certainly not on my face. I'm pretty special.

I have been having lots of fun lately, going places with mom, and playing with my doggy family, but MAN is it HOT!! I have learned that water is my friend! I love to get both my front feey in the water (the water I'm supposed to drink) and splash, splash, splash! I do this right after mom cleans out our water tub and puts new fresh water in it. I do this EVERY DAY! I always wait till mom goes back inside. It's funny, at 1st mom thought my sis, Josie, was the culprit, but she found out that its actually me. I'm the only one who always seems to have wet front feet. You can see that even in this photo I have wet front feet. Mom always tells me I'm her clown. Mom also tells me that I don't seem to know how big I am. I'm very gentle with people and very patient with my human siblings even when Dartagnan, my 1 1/2 yr old human brother, pretends I'm a horse. (This is something mom tells him repeatedly not to do because she is afraid he will hurt my back. She is silly, doesn't she know I'm practically indistructable?) He sneaks up on me when I'm laying down and mounts me like a horse. I either ignore him while he sits on me or, if I'm not in the mood, I gently slide him off my back while I stand up and swear in my doggy language. It sure is a good thing mom doesn't speak dog.

My family

Hi, I’m MoonShadow. I’m a giant, silver, 7 month old, standard poodle. I live with my canine and human family in Grand Junction Colorado. I have 4 standard poodle siblings. Schopenhauer is my favorite. He is a big black male and I am completely in love with him. He has a mustach. The queen of us poodles is Aspasia. She is the alpha female and pretty much runs the joint. What she say goes! She is really patient with me because, even though I’m bigger than she is, she knows I’m really just a puppy. She and Schop have a daughter who lives with us. She is a tiny chocolate wild child. She only weighs 35 pounds! She is 1 year old but much smaller than I am. Im over 60lbs and not even full grown yet! Then there is JosephineRose. She is my white friend. She is certainly the lady of the household, She and Aspasia don’t get along very well, but the rest of us LOVE to play with her. I think Aspasia is just threatened by her beauty. I also have a very odd sister, She is a 3lb. Teacup poodle. She is the boss of all of us, even Aspasia. She stands on the back of the couch and snaps at us when we misbehave. I have a very happy life.
