County fair

This blogging thing is neat, although I don't know how to do everything yet.

I got to go to the fair with mom and the human kids today. It was so exciting! There were SO many new smells and sights. I loved the pigs the best, although they made a terrible noise when they were mad. Mom was really proud of me because I didnt even get scared, even of those huge dogs mom called cows. They must speak a different language though because I sure didn't understand all their mmooooooo sounds. All I knoe is that they smelled bad! Even worse than the pigs. My 5yr old human brother, Soren, really wanted to take a huge brown pig home, but mom said no. I don't know why, I think it would have fit in just fine at home. I kinda scared the sheep and goats though. Boy are they dumb. What did they think I would do? I don't undersand why people and those silyl sheep get nervous around me. It frustrates mom sometimes. She keeps saying that maby if she gave me a frou-frou haircut people wouldnt be so silly, but I love my town and country clip. People should just stop being judgementle. I'm a poodle for goodness sakes, and the calmest dog mom has ever met. Anyway, the fair was cool. I hope I get to go there again soon, although mom says I have to wait till next year :( I sure am glad they let dogs visit the fair. So many places seem to think we are unclean or something, don't they know its the people who smell funny? After all, who would clean up all the popcorn and stuff people spill on the ground if it wasn't for us dogs?

Here I am, MoonShadow, at 6 months old. I needed my face shaved, but aren't I still beautiful? I'm a really odd color, not really silver, but not ...un-silvery. I kinda have some bronze in my fur, but only in the right light, and certainly not on my face. I'm pretty special.

I have been having lots of fun lately, going places with mom, and playing with my doggy family, but MAN is it HOT!! I have learned that water is my friend! I love to get both my front feey in the water (the water I'm supposed to drink) and splash, splash, splash! I do this right after mom cleans out our water tub and puts new fresh water in it. I do this EVERY DAY! I always wait till mom goes back inside. It's funny, at 1st mom thought my sis, Josie, was the culprit, but she found out that its actually me. I'm the only one who always seems to have wet front feet. You can see that even in this photo I have wet front feet. Mom always tells me I'm her clown. Mom also tells me that I don't seem to know how big I am. I'm very gentle with people and very patient with my human siblings even when Dartagnan, my 1 1/2 yr old human brother, pretends I'm a horse. (This is something mom tells him repeatedly not to do because she is afraid he will hurt my back. She is silly, doesn't she know I'm practically indistructable?) He sneaks up on me when I'm laying down and mounts me like a horse. I either ignore him while he sits on me or, if I'm not in the mood, I gently slide him off my back while I stand up and swear in my doggy language. It sure is a good thing mom doesn't speak dog.

My family

Hi, I’m MoonShadow. I’m a giant, silver, 7 month old, standard poodle. I live with my canine and human family in Grand Junction Colorado. I have 4 standard poodle siblings. Schopenhauer is my favorite. He is a big black male and I am completely in love with him. He has a mustach. The queen of us poodles is Aspasia. She is the alpha female and pretty much runs the joint. What she say goes! She is really patient with me because, even though I’m bigger than she is, she knows I’m really just a puppy. She and Schop have a daughter who lives with us. She is a tiny chocolate wild child. She only weighs 35 pounds! She is 1 year old but much smaller than I am. Im over 60lbs and not even full grown yet! Then there is JosephineRose. She is my white friend. She is certainly the lady of the household, She and Aspasia don’t get along very well, but the rest of us LOVE to play with her. I think Aspasia is just threatened by her beauty. I also have a very odd sister, She is a 3lb. Teacup poodle. She is the boss of all of us, even Aspasia. She stands on the back of the couch and snaps at us when we misbehave. I have a very happy life.
